Tiny Art Workshop

In celebration of Youth Art Month (YAM), the Arts Center will host a YAM JAM: A Tiny Art Family Fun Workshop for all ages. In this workshop, participants will be provided with all materials needed to create a collection of tiny artworks that will be exhibited in the various Tiny Free Art Galleries across Hilton Head Island. Local artist Debi West will be on hand to help participants tap into their tiny art-making talents then volunteers will help to install the art at the Tiny Galleries, including one located at the Arts Center.

Debi West

Debi West doesn’t just teach art, she teaches children, and this is the highlight of her life and her profession. Teaching students to visually tell their stories through the mastery of the art elements, principles and media is beyond exciting, and as she steps back and watches them explore, discover, dream and succeed she is reminded daily why she loves her chosen profession so much.

Debi has taught children K-12 for the past 24 years in Gwinnett County, Georgia. She has spent her career being a life-long learner earning her BFA in studio art from USC, and receiving her Masters, Specialist and Ph.D (ABD) in art education from UGA.
