Elizabeth Wallace Theater

About the space

This proscenium theater seats a maximum of 349 people with 272 on the main floor and 77 in the balcony. The distance from the last row to the stage is only 49 feet, providing an intimate and comfortable atmosphere for lectures, workshops and performances.

The theater is completely handicap accessible with wheel chair seating and an assisted listening system. The loading dock and ramped areas make bringing in heavy equipment easier.

The working stage is 80' wide by 40' deep with a 72' high fly gallery. The proscenium opening is 40'. Detailed technical and backstage information is available upon request.

Directions

The Elizabeth Wallace Theater is located on the first floor of the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina. From the parking lot, follow the sidewalk around the building to the entrance doors for the theater lobby.

Rachel & John Jakes Studio Theater

About the space

This is the ideal spot for smaller events such as parties with a band, studio performances or lectures which require flexible seating and stage areas. This space seats approximately 175 lecture style or 90 for sit down dinners. The space measures approximately 47' x 28'6” and has a sprung wooden floor, ideal for rehearsals and dance events. Mirrors along one wall and exterior windows allow natural light, yet the space may be completely draped for performances.

For rentals of the Studio Theater which are open to an audience, the Edward D. & JoAnn Wood Community Room shall be used as a lobby area.

There is not a static seating chart for this venue. This studio theater can be configured any number of ways.

Directions

The studio theater is located on the second floor of the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina. From the parking lot, follow the covered walkway to the double doors leading to the box office. Take the elevator from the box office lobby to the second floor. On the second floor, pass through the Edward D. & JoAnn Wood Community Room to your left as you exit the elevator. The doors at the back of the Community Room lead into the Studio Theater.

Community Room

About the space

This carpeted meeting room is 27' x 34'. It is equipped with pull down projector screens in two locations. This room has counter space for refreshments and a sound system for public address, cassette and compact disk. Projection equipment is also available. Rental of this room includes tables, chairs and lecterns for board, staff or meeting use. The room may be divided into two smaller rooms.

The Community Room is located on the second floor of the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina. From the parking lot, follow the covered walkway to the double doors leading to the box office. Take the elevator from the box office lobby to the second floor. The Community Room is in front of you, slightly to your left as you exit the elevator.

Heritage Classic Foundation Room

About the space

The Heritage Classic Foundation Room is a private VIP room with three seating areas, large windows, hardwood floors, a grand piano and a private bar. This room is excellent for those who desire comfort and an elegant atmosphere for meetings or retreats.

Disney Vacation Club Art Studio

About the space

This space is ideal for individual artists or group workshops. The space measures 52' x 34' and is equipped with three sinks, work tables and easels. Windows are on the south and west sides for excellent light quality.

From the parking lot, follow the covered walkway to the double doors leading to the box office. Take the elevator from the box office lobby to the third floor. The Disney Vacation Club Art Studio is to your left as you exit the elevator.

Porte Cochere & Outside Grounds

About the space

These paved areas with beautifully landscaped grounds and lighting are available for exhibits, outdoor events, festivals and workshops.

Plan Your Next Event

Whether you plan to host an intimate dinner for 20 guests or a gala for 300, the Arts Center's Guest Services Office will be delighted to assist you with the coordination of your event from start to finish.

We also have meeting rooms available for meetings, symposiums, etc. The Arts Center's staff is ready to assist you with the planning and execution of your important gathering. We will organize all of your catering needs and assist you with set-up and and special equipment.

Only the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina shall be responsible for the provision and sale of food and/or beverages before an during intermission for rental events, as well as beverage service for any non-performance event. There is a full catering kitchen in the building which services catering for in-house food needs.
