Held during the Hilton Head Island Gullah Celebration, February 11 is the annual Taste of Gullah festival, taking place, this year, in the Arts Center theater.
From storytelling to gospel music, dance and more, an afternoon of performances shines the spotlight on Gullah heritage.
The Art League of Hilton Head will again host the exhibition "De Aarts Ob We People" in the Walter Greer Gallery.
At the Gullah arts and craft stations, children can make their own keepsake while learning about the Gullah culture in a fun, hands-on way.
This festival gets its name from the incredible food prepared by local Gullah cooks, and is truly the highlight of the day! Indulge in Lowcountry specialties including original island gumbo, barbecue ribs, fried fish, shrimp and grits, and shrimp and okra gumbo. Don't miss this quintessential lowcountry festival!
Due to inclement weather in the forecast, this year's festival will be held inside the theater at the Arts Center. Come enjoy this wonderful cultural celebration!!
All ages are welcome to enjoy this free festival!
Get ready to see the talented dancers from Bluffton School of Dance performing numbers from their most recent award-winning season.
Students will learn a variety of ceramic hand building techniques: including pinch, slab, coil, surface decoration, glazing and more!
