This Gershwin musical comedy is the classic tale of a boy, a girl, and a theater in need of salvation. Bobby Child, a wealthy New York banker and Broadway hopeful, escapes New York and travels to Deadrock, Nevada, to foreclose on a struggling theater, only to fall in love with the theater owner's daughter.
To win her heart and save the building, he hatches a plan to put on a show featuring his showgirl friends and the local cowboys. Polly falls for him, but feels betrayed when she discovers his connection to the bank.
With a fast-paced script and a collection of the most beloved tunes of George and Ira Gershwin, including the romantic “Someone To Watch Over Me,” Crazy For You is a delightful homage to the optimistic musicals of the 1930s as well as the Arts Center’s opening production in 1996.
