Full Description:  The Talking Stick is a tool used in many Native American traditions when a council or meeting is called. The person responsible for calling the meeting must bring a talking stick, which is passed from person to person as they speak, and only the person holding the stick is allowed to talk. After learning about these Native American traditions and how symbolism can be found in the choice of materials and paint colors, each participant will use paint, feathers, hide, and other materials to create their own talking stick, for decorative purposes or to be used with storytelling games.
