Hilton Head Island School for the Creative Arts
3rd Grade Artwork Exhibit

On Display in the Arts Center’s Bank of America Room
Local artist, Brucie Holler taught a science-arts integrated residency to 3rd graders at Hilton Head Island School for the Creative Arts.  The students were exploring what effects gravity, motion, force, and speed can have. They studied artists such as Jackson Pollock, Helen Frankenthaler, and Morris Louis, then created their own expressive canvases inspired by these artists. Meanwhile students were answering questions through the scientific inquiry method such as “How does your distance away from the canvas affect the splat?”
